Join us for the highly anticipated 2024 Black Boots Awards as we kick off an exhilarating weekend dedicated to honoring and celebrating the achievements of Black equestrians! BBA 2024 marks the beginning of an unforgettable event filled with equestrian excitement and camaraderie! The 2024 Black Boots Awards ceremony takes place on Saturday, May 25th, preceded by a reception on Friday, May 24th, and rounded out by a morning trail ride on Sunday, May 26th!
ABOUT THE BLACK BOOTS AWARDS
The Ebony Horsewomen, Inc. Black Boots Awards is a groundbreaking event dedicated to spotlighting and commemorating Black individuals' rich history and remarkable achievements in the equestrian world. Our mission is to help shift the spotlight from the periphery and firmly onto the mainstream media's radar.
This visionary initiative was conceived by Patricia E. Kelly, the CEO and President of Ebony Horsewomen, Inc. Patricia's motivation stemmed from her frustration with the persistent underrepresentation and lack of acknowledgment faced by Black equestrians, artisans, and organizations within the horse industry. Additionally, she sought to bring to light the often-overlooked legacy of Black equestrianism. Join us in rewriting history and ensuring that Black excellence in the equestrian realm gets the recognition it truly deserves.

Saturday, May 25th
VIP Reception: 5:30 PM / Black Boots Awards Ceremony: 7:00 PM
• Location: CREC Greater Hartford Academy of the Arts, Hartford, CT
• Admission: Ceremony + Reception - $85 / Ceremony-only - $65
Sunday, May 26th
Morning Trail Ride and BBQ
• Time: 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM
• Location: Keney Park, Hartford, CT
• Admission: $35
